Celebrating the Spirit of Volunteerism in Yoga
The British Wheel of Yoga (BWY) is proud to announce the launch of the Heart of Yoga Awards 2025, with nominations opening on International Volunteers Day, Thursday 5 December 2024. These awards celebrate the exceptional contributions of BWY volunteers who dedicate their time to sharing the transformative benefits of yoga across the UK.
Volunteering lies at the heart of the BWY community, with members generously offering their time to organise events, trainings and lead initiatives that extend yoga’s reach into new and underserved areas.
“Volunteering is an act of selfless service, and our BWY volunteers embody this spirit through their commitment to sharing yoga with others,” says BWY Chair Di O’Reilly. “The Heart of Yoga Awards is our way of recognising and celebrating these unsung heroes, whose contributions are vital to our mission of making yoga more accessible to all. We encourage your nominations – not only will it bring joy to those you nominate, but it’s a wonderful way to acknowledge their impact and feel good in the process.”

The deadline for submitting entries is Friday 28 February 2025. Award winners will be announced at the BWY Annual General Meeting in May.
